Why do Jews kiss mezuzahs?

You may have seen a Jewish person walk into a house, touch the mezuzah and then kiss their hands. Have you ever wondered why they do that?

Some people think it's a superstition, others that it is a reminder, but it is really a seeking of a connection with God.

Although the word "mezuzah" means doorpost, it actually refers to something that is stuck on the doorpost containing words of scripture. Having it there is a regular reminder of our smallness in the world and the creation. God told the Jewish people to put them on their doorposts as a constant reminder of His "instructions for living."
